mkgmap software package provides Generate Garmin maps from OpenStreetMap data, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mkgmap
mkgmap is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mkgmap package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mkgmap *
You will get with mkgmap package name, version, architecture and description in a table
